Mingenew Cemetery Committee has a 4-year plan to update the grounds (a committee has been formed in conjunction with the Shire). At present we have some graves with no headstones which are mounted with gravel. The committee has had several donations from businesses and other groups and with this money we have built a Limestone Enterance Statement. The shire has supplied a tank and stand to water shrubs and trees, mostly bougainvillea, which have been planted along the front fence. The local Tree Nursery (Ian Pullbrook) has been contacted with regard to what are suitable trees that could be planted down each side. In the next two years we hope to have a shade area (pergola) near the niche wall and to generally keep the cemetery clean and tidy as well as continue planting until we have a colourful and shady area for visitors. We also hope to have a shade and chairs available for all funerals. This would be done in conjunction with the Mingenew Shire.

The Cemetery Committee is always looking for donations to make these dreams become reality all money is held in a trust account at the Mingenew Shire Council.
